The job description is not a contract, the County reserves the right to modify job descriptions at any time.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><u>JOB DESCRIPTION<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>JOB TITLE:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Light Equipment Operator (Bush Hog)<\/p>\n<p><strong>DEPARTMENT:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Road Department<\/p>\n<p><strong>REPORTS TO:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Foreman and Assistant Road Manager<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>SUMMARY: <\/strong>Operation and routine maintenance of various types of light equipment used in the construction and maintenance of county roads by performing the following duties, along with other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Operating gasoline or diesel powered machinery used in bush hogging, trimming limbs, and patching potholes<\/li>\n<li>Completion of project assignments that indicate specific results desired<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for reporting any suspected equipment problems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>JOB REQUIREMENTS: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must have a valid driver&#8217;s license<\/li>\n<li>Must be physically able to perform these duties<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to work Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. \u2013 5:00 p.m<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basis English skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently or in a team environment<\/li>\n<li>Prior knowledge of construction and\/or maintenance<\/li>\n<li>Prior knowledge in the safe operation of various types of light equipment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION AND\/OR EXPERIENCE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Acceptable experience in the operation of light equipment which is directly related to this position<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><em>Lamar County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
