The taxable selling price is not reduced by the manufacturer\u2019s rebates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 5% rate applies to cars, vans, buses and other private carriers of passengers and trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,000 pounds or less. Carriers of property and trucks with a vehicle weight exceeding 10,000 pounds are taxed at 3%.
