Every structure in the County must have an E-9-1-1 physical address so that when 9-1-1 is called the correct information will be given to the dispatcher to locate you on the Digital Map located in the Emergency Communications Center. The E-9-1-1 Address will assist the Dispatcher to have the appropriate emergency agencies to respond.<\/p>\n<p>If you have a Cellular Telephone, your location will show your GPS Coordinates (after a brief interval it will locate you). Your location will be on the Digital Map in Dispatch for quicker response. Please check with your Cellular Carrier to make sure that your Cell Phone has a GPS Chip located in it and that it is activated for this purpose.<\/p>\n<p>Lamar County E-9-1-1&#8217;s Addressing role in this system is to see that every structure in the county has an E-9-1-1 address for the Emergency responders to locate you in a timely manner. If you do not know your address, please contact this Office and we will assist you in obtaining it.<\/p>\n<h3>Obtaining a Flood Permit<\/h3>\n<p>We are the First step to obtaining a Flood Permit, which the Lamar County Floodplain Manager issues. Also, if you have a private road you must have a Blue Sign with White Reflective Lettering.
