Planning Commission

All applications must be completed and submitted by the deadline in order to ensure proper advertising and staff review of the petition. Filing a petition after this deadline has past does not guarantee that it will be placed and considered on the next months agenda. An insufficiently completed application may result in the petition not being placed to be heard on the next months agenda.

The deadline is generally the day after a hearing. The deadline is for the next months hearing. Example is an application submitted in March before the deadline should be heard in April, after the deadline in March may not be heard until May.

The Planning Department reserves the ability due to time constraints and other factors to adjust the deadline as needed to accommodate the proper processing for the next hearing.

Applications need to be filed with the Planning Department for Lamar County by noon the day of the deadline. Forms may be obtained by contacting the Planning Department as well. The Planning Department's Contact information can be found on our county webpage under Departments and Planning.

Petitions will be heard for consideration before the Planning Commission of Lamar County. Hearings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month unless otherwise stated or advertised. Agendas can be viewed by going to the Planning Commission page under the Planning Department.

No direct contact with Commissioners is advised. Any contact necessary should be passed through the Planning Department.
