Rate of Pay: $15/hr (Class B License); $17/hr (Class A License)

JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Heavy Equipment Truck Driver
DEPARTMENT: Road Department
REPORTS TO: Foreman and Assistant Road Manager
SUMMARY: Hauls supplies and material (asphalt, dirt, gravel, etc.) for maintenance and construction of county roads and right of ways by performing the following duties, along with other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operating gasoline or diesel-powered machinery used in material handling, bridge building, earth moving, excavation, and grading;
- Completion of project assignments that indicates specific results desired;
- Assists in applying material to road surfaces; and
- Responsible for reporting any suspected equipment problems.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a valid Class A or B MS Commercial License;
- Must be physically able to perform these duties;
- Must be able to work Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Basis English skills;
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred;
- Acceptable experience in a related area of maintenance and/or construction.
