JOB TITLE: Light Equipment Operator
DEPARTMENT: Road
REPORTS TO: Foreman and Assistant Road Manager
SALARY: $13.00 hourly
SUMMARY: Operation and routine maintenance of various types of light equipment used in the construction and maintenance of county roads by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: Include the following but other related duties may be assigned by the Foreman and Assistant Road Manager.
- Operating gasoline or diesel powered machinery used in bush hogging, trimming limbs, and patching potholes;
- Completion of project assignments that indicate specific results desired.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a valid MS Driver License;
- Must be physically able to perform these duties;
- Must be able to work Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Basic English skills;
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment;
- Prior knowledge of construction and/or maintenance;
- Prior knowledge in the safe operation of various types of light equipment.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred;
- Previous experience in the operation of light equipment which is directly related to the position and acceptable to the hiring authority.
